Competitive proving grounds will release on March 24th with the weekly update. Players will be able to queue solo for the ‘Team Deathmatch’ mode, battling each other for prestige and rewards. You will be able to track your ‘Competitive Match Average Score’ throughout the season, and your rank and rewards will be determined by your score. You’ll receive the rewards once the season ends.

The ranks players can earn (based on ‘Competitive Match Average Score’) are:

  • Grand Master: Top 30 players in the region
  • Master: Top 31 – 100 players in the region
  • Diamond: 2000+
  • Platinum: 1800 – 1999
  • Gold: 1600 – 1799
  • Silver: 1400 – 1599
  • Bronze: 1399 or below

As players increase their ‘Competitive Match Average Score’, ranks will be attained as the score thresholds listed above are met. Your competitive match average score will decay if you do not participate in a competitive match for 2 weeks. Competitive matches will use region-based and skill based matchmaking to create competitive gameplay.

In order to participate you’ll need to reach Tier 1 in Proving grounds, and the first season will last for roughly six months. An end date will be announced at a later time. The majority of PvP rewards will be earned through accumulating coins through Proving Grounds gameplay, which can be spent at a new vendor located in major cities. The weekly rewards will include items such as, honing materials and XP potions and the season long rewards will include items such as, mounts, titles, and cosmetics.
